Well Worth the Effort – Even for the Morning Mentally Challenged!!! – We’re weaning ourselves off the Keurig mainly due to the limited choices of environmentally friendly packaging, but also because you simply get better tasting coffee outside of the Keurig realm After some research, we landed on the Chemex – and LOVE it!!!

This is the small one but it’s great. – This makes 2 medium sized cups of coffee at a time. I thought it was bigger than it is but that’s my fault. This makes such good coffee. I do a measured pour over and the results are great. I use the Chemex filters with it. If I bought it again, I would get the bigger one even if I was making one or two cups of coffee because it’s fine to have more space.

Great Coffee Maker, Even For Beginners – I really struggled when deciding between a Chemex setup or a decent automatic drip machine. It’s tough because while the Chemex is always cheaper than a good drip machine, it’s enticing to do less work in the morning. However, I decided on the Chemex 3 cup after a lot of thinking and research, and here’s why:

No Going Back – In the past few weeks, I’ve gone from Keurig to Chemex and a couple other pour-over & immersion methods. After making these changes along with the use of a nice grinder, I am enjoying the best tasting coffee I have ever experienced at home. YouTube videos show that to get the best results you need to ‘dial-in’ the grind setting to the nth degree in order to make the best coffee. That may be true, but even with minimal experience, my results have been very satisfactory. So, if more experience makes it even better, well, that is certainly something to look forward to. In the meantime, I’m more than satisfied with the investment. Great coffee warrants a slightly extra effort. And once you are familiar with the method(s) a ‘slightly extra effort’ is the way I think you will see it.
