Good French press but paint wears off – Today is 22 September 2022. I received the press 9 August 2022, so I have been using it about seven weeks. It makes a great two or three cups of coffee. I make 700 ml of coffee each morning. The press can make a max of 750 ml, but that will spill over a little when pressed. Inside is all metal and easy to clean and easy to dispose of the grounds from. The press mechanism itself is very sturdy, easy to disassemble for cleaning, and fairly easy to reassemble for use. My only “disappointment” is that the paint is wearing from the bottom of the pot (see photo). I have smooth, nonabrasive counter tops so it’s not their fault. Also I don’t slide it around. Knowing this I would have gotten the shiny metal model. I imagine over the years this pot will lose some of its paint but maybe that will give it a lost paint patina. Since I got free shipping and 27% off the cost off the French press, it isn’t worth the trouble of returning it. Hey, it makes good coffee and cost half of replacing my Cuisinart drip pot that stopped working.

Finally an unbreakable travel Press! – I love that it is made of metal to travel with. It will only hold about 31oz of water which means only about 3 cups of coffee depending on the amount you drink. It being metal versus glass does not affect the taste. The tiny little bean can it comes with is cute but not realistic for me. I ordered the larger storage Canister and just used it this past weekend. It could hold 400 grams of course grind with a decent amount of space for some additional grams.

Coffee just tastes better this way – With the popularity of French press coffee these days, I had to see what the big deal was. After reading numerous reviews about glass cracking on other coffee presses, I wanted to find one that was glass free. The Coffee Gator is the coffee press I was looking for. It is very sturdy and the lack of glass means there is nothing to crack. The filters are easy to clean and my coffee just seems to taste better now. With the various measurement lines on the inside of the press, I can make just the right amount of coffee for myself in the morning.
