10 reviews for Coffee Maker by Cuisinart, Single Serve 72-Ounce

Great product – After using this coffee maker for a month I’m quite impressed, this replaced a Keurig maker that I had for 10 years or so. After reviewing similar makers around the same price range decided on this one, I couldn’t have have made a better decision. This one has all the bells and whistles that more expensive one’s had with 5 settings for cup sizes, on and off setting, 72 oz. tank reservoir and from off will make a cup in one minute. I do use Angelino’s coffee because of the strength and taste, makes a great cup of coffee. Also this maker looks great on my counter and it’s easy to use plus it’s a Cuisinart, would be a six star if there was one!

THE BEST CUP OF COFFEE IN ONE MINUTE – Approximately 12 years ago before the Christmas holidays, Keurig flooded the TV air waves with commercials for their new K cup pod coffee maker that quickly brewed one cup of coffee. I liked the concept but never heard of Keurig and had no idea who they were or if they were a legitimate company or merely a scam so I didn’t buy their coffee maker.

STILL IN HONEYMOON PHASE – So far, I am enjoying my Cuisinart coffeemaker even though it took me a while to get accustomed to having to POWER it on for initial use of the day, but I have gotten accustomed to doing so. However, part of its description states stainless steel which is misleading. The color is stainless steel but the vast majority of the coffeemaker is plastic. The only portion which MAY BE stainless steel is the grate which you sit your cup on. It is noisier than the Keurig I previously owned, but again, I have become accustomed to the noise. I do like the ease of the feature of being able to preset quantity on a regular basis and being able to adjust up or down for smaller or greater amounts. I have not had it long enough to clean so I could not rate that category.

Great update to the older Cuisinart single server coffee maker – I replace a ten+ year older model of this same coffee maker and after a few months of use I am happy with my purchase. This model is smaller, uses more plastic, and they changed the cup design. I only used both models as single serve ground coffee (I don’t use these with Keurig cups) so this review is based on the filter cup that comes as an accessory. I was worried that the plastic look and feel versus the metal design of the older one would impact the use, but so far I like this one better. The water reservoir is smaller but that just means filling up more often which isn’t much of a hassle. The filter cup is bigger with a different design. The older model would overflow at the top and sometimes let grounds into your coffee and put stain on the cup holder that was impossible to clean completely. Because the new cup is larger and the coffee brewing mechanism is slower, you don’t need to fill it up and I don’t get any overflow. The hottest temperature on the brew menu is a lot hotter than the older model (which I also like about this one). Because the more water goes through slower, the coffee (to me) tastes better too. One weird thing that I found about the button layout is that they reversed the size arrows which were smaller/larger and are now larger/smaller. Since I use a smaller travel cup I change this at least once a day and it took me a while to get used to which arrow to press.
