cost – I loved my product arrived within a few days!!!

Replacement for Waring 1300 Single Burner – this appears to be the same unit – Got this since it seems that Cuisinart took over Waring. I would not buy those cheap light-weight open-element units (Well I did but immediately returned it). The cheap light weights have that swirly-cue element that could easily be ripped out by a baby. At least this Cuisinart’s element is heavy metal and sealed (that’s important!) all around and attached firmly to the body of the burner.

Really good quality – Always hesitant buying appliances on the internet. This one was everything I hoped for and excellent quality. Got one for myself and another for my elderly mother in a small apartment setting. We both love it! Heats large pots for soup with no problem and just heavy enough to stay put where it is placed for use. Couldn’t be happier.

Better than the others – We paid a little more for this one because we wanted to like our hot plate. It’s not as hot or as fast as a stovetop, but works pretty well. HINT – when cooking pasta, use the electric tea kettle to boil the water first then add water from the tea kettle to your pre-heated pan on the hot plate. Return to boil, then add your pasta. If you try to boil a pot of water on this baby, you’ll be waiting a l-o-n-g time. Have fun!

Decent; good longevity, but slow for boiling as others noted – Quick snapshot:

Works for pressure canninng with a 23qt Presto – It takes a long time but I’m able to get a consistent 15+ PSI using this with my 23 QT Presto pressure canner. I put it on level 5 until it gets to 15 psi then I can drop it to 4.5. I had to put the weight on earlier than when I use it on a gas stove, I put it on once there was steady heat coming out of the vent (not full blown steam)

Great for a motor home – This is perfect for what I use it for. I don’t have to heat up the motor home while cooking. I make a lot of one pan meals and it has worked great.

If you plan to use this for pressure canning… – I have a Presto 23 qt pressure canner and a glass top stove, so i purchased this to can with. In short this thing needs as much help as it can get in reaching temperature. The first time I used it I gave up and switched to my stove…but dang the canner is heavy and although the stove survived I would prefer not to chance it.
