Works GREAT!! – I purchased this for my mother who loves eggs, but complains about time and tools needed to cook them. I was hoping this would make it easier for her. I borrowed it tonight to try it for myself (my husband asked for egg salad). I should preface this with the fact that I HATE boiling eggs. I never get it right, and the hard boiled eggs always come out dry from cooking too long. I plugged in the machine, followed the directions and poof…Perfectly done hard-boiled eggs!! They were super easy to peel as well (I followed the directions of putting the eggs in ice water after they were done). The eggs turned out tasty, not too hard, not too soft. Just right. I loved how easy it was, I’m buying the deluxe one for myself!!

Makes delicious eggs – Okay I love this egg maker not only for hard boiled eggs but for the ability to make omelets and poached eggs. Before I bought this I was using a microwave omelet maker but it started to make rubbery eggs, I have a tiny stoveless kitchen in my tiny apartment and I’m so happy I purchased this, I get a lot of use out of it. I watched a “How-to” video on YouTube which was helpful except the guy steamed 2 pieces of broccoli inside the omelet dish..needless to say that made me laugh and I felt it was a big waste of time..but then again whatever floats your boat. After making hard boiled eggs there is a brownish residue on the bottom which I clean using water and distilled vinegar.

My insights and tips. I love it! – It does what it’s supposed to do. What you need to know is, there are lots of variables involved in getting the boiled egg you like. It’s a matter of trial and error until you figure it out.

Easy, quick 15 minute breakfast and out the door! – I used to have an older egg steamer similar to this and miss it a lot. This one’s perfect and gets the job done with easy clean up. Nice little jingle to let you know it’s finished cooking. Marks on side of the water measuring cup are suggestions, You’ll have to play around with the amount needed to achieve the desired hardness or softness for the style of eggs your cooking.

this is my friend – It works great. You will quickly learn to add just a tad more or less water to make the eggs just the way you like them, and it’s very consistent. Poached eggs on toast becomes a snap. Even a bachelor can do it. The mineral residue builds up quickly, so just wipe down the heating plate now and then. Doesn’t affect performance. One imperfection: The poaching tray gets quite hot and covered in hot condensation. Holding it to move the eggs to the toast is impossible without shielding your fingertips. I just use a folded paper towel. On the other hand, hard-boiled eggs can be quickly moved to a bowl with your bare fingers. There is a piercing tool for making a tiny hole in the broad end of an egg, for hard-boiling. It took me way too long to figure out that the bottom of the water cup can be pulled off, revealing the piercing tool. Anyway, this thing is awesome. Takes little space. Oh, and you cannot burn down your house with this. Why? Because (a) it cuts the power to the heating plate when done, and (b) it plays annoying music when the eggs are done, and the only way to make the music go away is to unplug the thing. Rude but effective safety feature. Highly recommended.
