Even heating – I hesitated to order this based on some of the reviews about it’s heating but as you can see in my picture it heats evenly. The other thing I like is that it doesn’t turn off for an excessive amount of time before the heat comes back on. I have a much more expensive pan that completely stops frying before it comes back on.

Love it! – I just used this for making bacon. I usually make my bacon on a cast iron skillet. While the skillet does job and makes the bacon crispy. It makes a lot of mess with the splatter. I bought a metal three-fold splatter shield which works ok but takes up room and doesn’t shield everything. I would also have to use an apron or something for clothing protection from the splatter. Being in an apartment, I also would need to use a fan, open windows, and microwave fan too to avoid the smoke and alarm going off. The clean up after is also time consuming and a pain.

Keeping it but Slightly dissapointed. – This Electric Fry Pan is a BEAST! It is Huge, the antistick coating is fantastic. Easy Clean. Great high temps and the price is right (under $60). The ONLY thing I’m dissapointed in is the temperature setting. I wanted to simmer a dish that I make but when I set the temperature, the heat element either comes on FULL strength or shuts off entirely. For example, if I set to 300 degrees, when it hits 300 degrees it comes on and starts boiling until it reaches a certain temperature and then it shuts off until it senses its below 300 degrees. Then the cycle repeats . I wished it would stay a constant 300 degrees but alas, nope. Other than that this item is worth it for me to keep.

Gift – I bought this as a gift. It came in a dirty delivery box, no box of its own. So if you plan on giving as a gift, buy a box.

Needs handles! – I bought this for work so I could make grilled cheese sandwiches and other things so I didn’t spend a lot on lunches. It is not deep at all which is ok and it really needs handles. It is light weight so it can move easily but then you go to hold it and get burned. So make sure you have a potholder with you. Otherwise it works well for basic needs.

Much needed extra room! – I have been using an appliance similar to this for years, primarily for roasts or chickens. My first roaster was a WestBend bought from a local representative who demonstrated in my home. This is the largest one to date. So far I really like it! And it’s huge! All my vegetables at once!

Increase the heat – As a southern woman, I have used electric skillets to fry chicken for over 30 years. Always at 325 F. I purchased this skillet after moving my primary one to a vacation house. (I’ve had 3 – and always 325 F worked perfectly for crispy chicken). I purchased this one to replace the one I moved, and even though I kept bumping the heat up, it really never maintained enough consistent heat to fry the chicken so that it was crispy (not soggy) on the outside. It is great for non-stick, and cleans up really easily – but know that you should bump the heat up higher for best results on chicken.
