It does produce really thick foam (it was my milk not the frother that was my problem). The only reason the rating is not a 5 is because it is difficult to clean. You cannot get water on the outside (where it can touch the on button) or the bottom where it sits on the base – very tricky. This is true of all these frothers, however.
