Suctions and seals well – This machine is much smaller than the Food Saver, that’s nice. That being said, the Food Saver does hold and store the roll of freezer bag material. I don’t see that as a big deal because when you have different size rolls, you have to switch them out anyway. It has a cutter on it, which is nice, not all of them do. Cutting with the Food Saver is a little easier, as the machine holds the roll in place. I don’t see that as a big deal either, you just drape the bag material over the machine to cut the roll to the size you need. This machine vacuums very well, as shown in the photos… no air in the bag. It comes with the attachment to take air out of containers (which I did not use, because I don’t have the containers). It comes with and extra foam sealing gasket which is wonderful. The Food Saver gasket wore out and I had to purchase a new one … this one comes with one. If you don’t do a major amount of sealing, you may never need it, but it’s so handy that they include it and you won’t have to delay your sealing because your machine won’t work. Three rolls of bag material and several premade bags come with this, another big plus. You’re ready to go right out of the box. This vacuum sealer is a great little sealer!

Wish the suction was a separate button instead of a combo. Hope I’m getting all the air out. Seal seems pretty good. Not very quite machine, but as long as it does the job. I was able to seal up quickly some 1.75″ thick steaks for the freezer with no mess or fuss. The unit is light and maybe feels a little on the flimsy side, but it stores easily without taking up much space. I have an older (and much larger) FoodSaver V3840 that seems to have a stronger vacuum (ie, it sucks harder). While it vacuums and seals a little quicker, it also has a substantially larger footprint and take up a good deal of storage space. The InkBird got the job done easily and tucks away much better than the FoodSaver.
