Use for sealing documents and photographs in clear sheet protectors. – As I use this for sealing documents and photographs in clear sheet protectors I cannot comment on several of the features this device offers that art food specific. The very old device that this replaced was beginning to have the sealing/cutting wires breaking. My older unit used a separate hot wire to cut the plastic, whereas this unit uses a sliding cutter on the unit’s top. This worked well for cutting in one direction but would bind in the opposite direction.

Love this vacuum sealer! – My friend kept trying to convince me I needed a vacuum sealer, but I could never see the value in one so this was my first one. She finally convinced me so after reading hundreds of reviews on numerous brands I decided on this one based on the value for the money. I had no idea what I was missing! This little gadget is great! I’ve sealed everything from frozen food to dry goods to refrigerated items for longer, better storage and it’s worked great! I paid less than half of what my friend paid for her name brand vacuum sealer and from what she’s told me, mine does a better job! It has really good suction power for being so small and is very easy to use. It’s also so compact it slides right on top of my refrigerator between the cabinet and fridge and is barely visible when stowed away. I’m careful about letting it “rest” 20 seconds in between sealing to cool down a bit and making sure I put the cardboard inserts back in the tray when not in use. After literally hundreds of sealed items, it still works perfectly! Hoping it will last for a very long time!
