bad smelling plastic – Did not like the use of toxic plastic which does not come in contact with coffee but does have a very bad smell

nice style and color – My presto perc took a dump after 20 years! So, I bought this one because it’s sleek look, color, and meaty design. It works well, percs quickly, but beware…the holes in the coffee basket are large- you need a paper filter. Also, I used all the suggestions and my coffee still had a lot a grains, so I bought the filters that completely wrap the coffee (like a little pillow). Better now. My coffee seems a little weak, but not supposed to fill to basket all the way…not sure how to fix that yet. My biggest frustration is the lip around the inside of the top of percolator- after hand washing I cant turn this upside down on the dry mat- the lip holds too much water. I have to lay it on it’s side or completely dry by hand. kind of a pain.

However, 9 months after using, the on/off switch is stuck in the ‘on’ position. I must plug in/unplug to operate. Very inconvenient. The window of return and warranty ended in July. I certainly expected this percolator to last much longer.

If you love coffee, get one!! – This percolator is easy to use and renders great tasting coffee. Better than a stovetop, because no burnt coffee. This pot pours a piping hot cup o joe. I like its keep warm function. My only gripe is the locking nut in the bottom of the pot is starting to rust/deteriorate after only 4 uses. Oher than that it is a good pot. The pieces can go in the dishwasher, I don’t. I rather handwash.

Best tasting coffee – My stepdad made the best percolator coffee and after wasting so much money on fancy machines, this percolator tops them all. While the new machines are convenient, I have learned to be patient in making a good cup of coffee. I do use filters in the percolator as I don’t want grounds in my coffee. I start it before my morning routine of getting ready for the day, and when I am done so is my coffee.
