Melt the chocolate beforehand and use plenty of Crisco to thin it. – I used this as an accessory to the chocolate river in a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory area of my Halloween party. Assembly was fairly easy and clean up was pretty ok considering. Noise level was a bit loud but we couldn’t really hear it when the party was going on. I thought I had melted the chocolate well and added enough Crisco to thin it out but as you can tell the chocolate was still a bit thick. There were areas where the chocolate wasn’t flowing well on so it would cool off and thicken up until some warm chocolate would hit it. I used around 2 lbs of chocomelts made for chocolate fountains and then added 2 more pounds of chocolate chips. Again, I did melt them down first and added Crisco to thin it but didn’t get it warm or thin enough to flow really nice. Still did fine enough that the guests had fun with it and in the end, that’s all that matters. Will use it again in the future with the knowledge I’ve gained. I highly recommend testing it the day before your event so you can work out the kinks.

Need LOTS of chocolate – We got this for our daughter’s birthday party. The kids loved it! The only thing that you need to be aware of is that you need a ton of chocolate. I got 2 of the largest bags at Walmart of the chocolate chips and it still wasn’t enough.

So awesome!! – Used this awesome chocolate fountain at the dessert table for my my son’s wedding. What a hit with the fruit platter! It was semi easy to set up. I read reviews to clean it right away and totally didn’t do that. It took me about twenty minutes to clean off the hardened chocolate by using soap and hot water. I thought it was going to be so much harder, so I was delightfully surprised. I didn’t think it was loud at all, but then again we were outside. The flow of the chocolate was really pretty. I used the microwaveable Wilton’s fountain chocolate and it was super simple and so delicious. The distance of the fountain bowls made it easy to choose all different kinds of sizes of fruit to add the chocolate to. The kids weee so pumped over it and the adults turned into kids using it. So super happy with this fountain! I’m buying another one, so we can have two going at future events!

great chocolate fountain! – We have used it once so far and it came out great. My only complaint is that there were no assembly instructions so I ended up putting it together wrong and had to change it when there was already chocolate in it.

Perfect for the price – highly recommened – see video review – See my video review for more details and see it run. Like many of you, I found reviews on both sides of the fence. I was really a little nervous getting this because our party was the day after it arrived and “what if it is does not work”. Well, this things works great. We did NOT use expensive chocolate. My wife used the regular chocolate chips (24oz) and 3/4 cup of oil. Heated it in the microwave first, then stirred it up and poured it in the fountain base.
