Great hot plate – Works as expected. I use it mainly to brew black tea as black tea need time at very high temp (205-210) to brew properly otherwise the color and the taste will be very weak. And this hot plate can keep the tea pot at any temperature. 1 is too high (will boil the water) but you can go much lower than 1 so it is great. The only issue is that it is too big for a tea pot base but I couldn’t find anything smaller that is as good working and as beautiful. FYI I use a glass tea pot which has a flat base.

It indeed boils watee – We have a gas burner stove and I needed precise heat distribution for a specific recipe. Thus looked into getting an electric burner. Based on other reviews that stated it doesn’t boil water, I was hesitant to purchase. However, the burner just arrived and I plugged it in and it does indeed boil water. I hope it lasts until my recipe is complete!

Grateful – Sometimes you don’t know how much you need something til you get desperate. As someone with very serious medical conditions and dangerous life challenges I need hot food to remain hot the entire time I’m eating. Nothing else worked as well as this. Covering the plate with cloth only went so far.. product heats up well and fast. Unplug stays warm 10-15 min which means that while cors is not long enough? I can plug to start with and unplug at the table and if I need to plug it back in. Thank you

Mine has had only two problems: (1) the numbers melted off the control knob after a few months, so I have to eyeball the heat setting, and (2) liquids that boil over sometimes get into the crevice around the knob and leave a residue that mucks it up. I’ll buy another one if I ever have to though, or check Ovente first if I need a different size.

Works quickly and small enough to store – My family bought this as we don’t currently have a working stove. I thought I would be able to make a few small things on it, maybe scrambled eggs or pancakes. But it turns out that it works so much better than I thought it would. The heat seems to be evenly distributed and it heats up quickly. I haven’t tried boiling water with it, but I’ve cooked things like veggie burgers, steamed veggies, scrambled eggs, fried eggs and even ramen (I cook mine in a pan with very little water). It has excelled at everything so far. It is very easy to clean and easy to store. I”ll likely keep using it in the future when we have extra dishes to use during the holidays or even if we ever decide to go camping. I highly recommend this.
