Beautiful design, simple to work, does the job! – I have had various models of the SodaStream throughout the years. At first it would be used daily and it became a pain to traipse to a store to exchange the old cannister for a new one. So, eventually, I would donate the devices or give them away to friends. But it’s been more than a decade, could be two, and I began to think about getting another carbonation maker. I researched them all and it seems they all do the same thing: they carbonate water. Some have the cannisters, some have small cartridges and some have packets. So I went with the Philips in white and stainless. It’s very attractive and it is very basic, which is all anyone needs. It works perfectly. I never liked the design aesthetics (or lack thereof) of the SodaStream. Be sure you notice that Philips packages the lid to the bottle separately in the box while the bottle comes attached to the machine. You could easily miss the lid when you unpackage the machine from the box. I’ll still have to traipse to a store to exchange the cannister, but now that they seem to sell the cannisters everywhere, it won’t be a big deal.

Worked great at first, then malfunctioned! – I love the look of this product. It’s sleek and looks great on the countertop, part of the reason why I purchased it, for its design. Worked great for the first five months and then today, I was terrified when I pressed the button down to carbonate a bottle of water and it got stuck! It kept carbonating the bottle of water and pressure kept building. I frantically tried unscrewing the bottle as I was worried it would explode, and the pressure sprayed water everywhere and also jammed my finger. I tried it once more to see if it was a fluke, and it did it again! Luckily, I realized earlier, so it sprayed less water and didn’t do more damage. I would NOT recommend this product. Stick with Soda Stream.
