Doesn’t recover temperature quickly – I’ve had Presto fryers of every design over the decades. This one was the closest thing to the wonderful Fry Baby. A couple of things I am uncomfortable with on this unit is that the light doesn’t go out when the desired temperature is reached. No way to know that useful information other then using my digital thermometer. Secondly, once the fish and shrimp went in the temperature never rose above 290 degrees. I need 350! Just sayin’… I have larger Presto units that do better but require more oil.

Perfect for one person! – I purchased this for my 4 year old, who wouldn’t eat anything from the air fryer, but eats the heck out of any kind of fast food french fry. He had some pretty major food allergies starting at 6 months old, so getting him to eat/try new foods is a struggle. I finally decided to look for a small deep fryer to cook his food in, and found this one. It says feeds 1-2, I wouldn’t consider it big enough for 2. The lid detaches from the body, and the basket is completely removable, which makes cleaning out, and replacing oil a breeze. Definitely recommend.

Heating issue – Update on this item. I contacted Presto customer service and they had me fill out a short questionnaire and take some photos. Then they sent me a prepaid FedEx mailing label and had me send the unit back to them for testing. After about two weeks they responded and said they were replacing the defective unit with a new one. I have been using the replacement now for about 2 and a half months and it works great. Thank you Presto customer service!! This shows you care and are committed to customer satisfaction.

Bought Used frim Amazon Warehouse – Regular price $39 I bought Used Like New for $27 from Amazon Warehouse. Outer box was beat up but sealed well. There was a small piece of black plastic broken off lower body near electric connection. Otherwise perfect.
