SIX years later – That’s right. I bought this January 1st 2016. Since then I have put countless batches of jerky through this thing. I’ve abused it, dropped it. left it outside in the rain, moved across the country and then halfway across the globe. And tonight… it finally died on me. She would have been six in a month. That’s an eternity for an entry level appliance these days. Goodbye, old girl. Ya did good.

Awesome Value – I used this to dehydrate apple slices for my first use. This model does not have a temp gauge but it doesn’t need one. The heat is warm, the fan works well and is amazingly quiet for a basic dehydrator. I was well pleased with the uniformity of the drying. I had a few pieces on the bottom rack that needed a bit more drying but not many. This machine works well for less cost. I’ll be ordering more trays and I’m so happy with my purchase!

I’ve had and used mine since 2012. Still love it after all these years. – It is big. There is no temperature control and no on/off switch. It dehydrate quickly and the items are dehydrated consistently. I purchased the fruit roll up inserts when I first purchased this (older model). I have never needed to buy replacement trays or any replacement parts. I use this less now that my child is older. The first few years, I used it consistently on a weekly schedule and it has tapered down to once a month these days.

It has several levels and lots of space and I really liked how I could spread everything out and separate each level as needed. You can use them all or just a couple, whatever you need. Function > form. – I have the older model where the heat unit is on the bottom/countertop. It is substantially more powerful and gets your product’s hotter and dehydrates quite a bit faster. The new design of the unit is easier to clean, lighter, and saves more space but costs you time and attention regardless.
