Paint peels off! – This is a great kettle, but for the money the pain shouldn’t peel off. The paint around the top gets all bubbly and expands when I use it. It’s only a matter of time before the bubbles burst and I have the raw metal showing.

Five star kettle – Hands down the best kettle I’ve ever owned. Reviews are very confusing, not sure if the negative reviews are people just being petty. I watched a YouTube review give a very negative review but at the end of the video, she for some reason announced that she got another Smeg kettle for her basement kitchen. Why would she do that if she truly hated the kettle. That confirmed to me that this a great product. And it is. It’s quiet and heats the water fast. Its a well made kettle and it’s looks amazing on the counter. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Get Amazon’s extended warranty! – This kettle is GORGEOUS abd I’ve wanted one for years. Finally saved up my pennies to buy one but after reading the reviews decided to also shell out for the 4-yr extended warranty. I’m SO glad I did – eight months later the seal around the lid went, as well as the open-lid button. The reviews said this was the most common part that breaks, and it did!
