Perfect for Single people and portion control – I have a fancy rice pot, but I am single and usually only cook for one meal. My fancy rice pot required I cook several cups that I would just waste. Plus, I’m on a diet and rice is my kryptonite. If I wasn’t wasting it, then I was eating it. I needed to be able to cook enough for one meal. So I searched for mini rice cooked and this was one of the options. I received it today, and it is very tiny and cute. I used the measuring cup that came with it and put 1 scoop into the pot. When it was done, I had the perfect amount of rice for one person to eat. I weighed it and it was a little under 4 ounces. There was room to have cooked more, but, like I said, I am trying to practice portion control. The rice came out perfectly cooked, and I am very happy with the purchase.

Perfect for small portions – This is a great appliance for small batches of rice. I wish it had the marks inside the basin for water measurements like my old one did. It took one or two tries to dial in the right ratio. When I put a little more water than I normally would for a larger batch of rice, it was perfect.

perfect size for 1 or 2 servings – I live alone so just the right size for me. Just enough rice for 1 serving and 1 serving for left overs. I especially like to cook sticky rice in this cooker. No need to rinse, soak, and steam. Just add rice, water, and maybe salt and start cooking. Sticky rice comes out perfectly sticky. Regular long grain rice is also a no brainer. Only caveat is that if you do not remove the rice soon after cooking it will dry out a layer on the bottom. This isn’t a problem because most inexpensive rice cookers do the same thing. 25 minute cook time, 5 minute rest time, remove rice and fluff with a fork.

works, but noisy and has issues – Must be level. To really work, you must add ice about every other hour.

Great device, but no noise when done – This thing cooks rice perfectly! The only problem with it, is it makes no noise when it finishes — you have to watch the light in order to know when it’s done. That’s a problem when you don’t know how long it’s going to run for before the light changes.
