Exactly what I needed! – I got this because I have an induction stovetop. I used to be able to cook using my tagine (pronounced:Tah-Jean and is a clay cooking vessel from Morocco) on our old stove top. We got a new stovetop and it hadn’t occurred to me that I wasn’t able to use it for anything except induction pots, pans, and cast iron. I tried several different barriers, all of which failed. They all basically worked for 20 min, then BAM! Shut off! The barrier would get too hot and the stovetop has an automatic thing where if it goes above a certain temp it shuts off. So, sadly I put away our beloved tagine….UNTIL we bought this! HOORAY! Not only can we make amazing meals like we eat back in Morocco , but we can have another heating source for holidays. We also use it when traveling. Comes in handy.

Boiled Water Easily – Used this to boil water in a pot for a project. I filled the pot 3/4 of the way full and it brought it to a boil – I had to actually turn down the temp because the boil was too much for what I needed. After reading reviews of other Hot Plates where people complained about not being able to boil water, I’m very happy that I purchased this unit.
