What the Phin! – I always enjoyed Vietnamese coffee, but the prices are ridiculous…..they make Starbucks seem like a bargain ridiculous. Saving a lot of money by doing the labor myself, and after a couple rounds, these Phins have paid for themselves.

Great quality phin – This is a very nice quality phin filter. Comes with instructions, steel looks to be good quality. I’ve used it a couple of times with a medium grind from my local coffee shop and it makes great coffee. No grounds in the cup, no need to time anything, pour it and go about your business for 5 minutes or so. Thanks!

Wonderful, wonderful – I too can’t afford restaurant viet coffee. This filter with a can of Cafe du monde also from Amazon fits the bill. Im not sure a daily cup is good for my kidneys but I want it. It is so delicious.

The instructions say it only requires half a turn for Gravity Insert to flatten and balance out the coffee grounds, but I would advise that is not enough – you will need to shake the whole filter side by side for a bit to flatten out the grounds, THEN use the Gravity Insert to compress the grounds.
