Great Slicer for the money – UPDATE: I finally was able to remove the screws using a drill with allen key…had to change the star rating because it is truly a great slicer for the money. Directions are still pretty bad!

Hard to clean – I have mixed emotions with this slicer. It is very good works well but supper hard to clean. Meant gets stuck in every crack and I have not figured out how to remove the blade. I am very experienced with slicers as I have owned and operated a restaurant for years. It cuts onions and tomatoes well and we smoked an eye round roast and it made beautiful thin slices. I was supper happy with it till I went to clean it. I had to use a toothbrush to clean all the meat out of the little spaces which took me almost an hour. At that point I was not happy. There isn’t any instructions for removing the blade or for sharpening the blade. I gave it 5 stars because the function of the slice is very good for the price.

Great purchase! – I cure and smoke my own bacon and this is the perfect tool for slicing it up! It’s doesn’t have a long stride so your bacon strips will be no longer then about 8” but who needs long bacon? Have 2 slices or more ;)! I love it! It also cuts cheese like a dream( harder cheeses or have your soft cheese in the freezer for roughly 30 minutes . Must buy for the home smoker.

Seems OK we’ll see how long it lasts, – For cheap Chinese junk it is not bad considering the low cost. I did have to adjust the sharpening stones to contact the blade correctly (pretty simple), the threads on the thickness adjuster aren’t as smooth as they could be but once you set a thickness it stays put, and the meat carrier has a hiccup about half way through its range – I am sure it is a burr that needs to be cleaned up but if you apply slight downward pressure as you are feeding the food into the blade, it works fine. Other than that, so far, not bad, but I saved the box and the packing, just in case.
