this is expensive but I am keeping it. – I got this and another one about the same time. Presto 07072 Slimline Griddle, Black, 22″ and Zojirushi EA-DCC10 Gourmet Sizzler Electric Griddle,Stainless Brown. The Zoji was not supposed to get here until almost Christmas. It was basically the end of summer. I had been debating on getting a different one that was much cheaper, and that date was a long way off. My wife said get one to last you until the expensive one shows up in December. So I did. not like me at all. I am not one to spend a lot of money and definitely not waste it. I loved the one I got before this one came. It is great, but then this one came early. The lid is cheap and poorly made, but the pan is not. The lid works, they say as a tray too, but it is soooo flimsy that I wouldn’t even try it. If you do then let me know how it goes. That said it will let things steam and you can cook things quicker with the lid. I like that it has no drain. I was worried about that, but I can make gravy in it and other things. Steamed veggie or something in a sauce. There is about an inch lip to work with. It’s not a deep skillet, but is has some of the properties of a skillet and some of the properties of a griddle. The biggest sell for me was the heating coil. This thing is perfect. It weaves through the entire base. I love that is heats so well. I thought when I loved the other griddle so much that I would send this one back, but I actually ended up keeping both. silly but I like them both.

this unit heats evenly – bought this looking for hot plate that heats evenly.. this one does. little slow to warm up and does not reheat quickly. the non stick is the best i have seen with a month of daily use with no sign of the non stick getting worse. the pattern in the plate does make a pattern in your eggs..

Almost perfect – This griddle heats fairly evenly across the surface and heats fairly close to the edges, so you have a lot of usable cooking surface. It cleans easily….NOTE: (I take care not to let anything burn on the surface at a high temp).

Loving this! – Mostly use it for breakfasts. Cooks evenly throughout. Has cut my breakfast cooking in half, love this!!!

good griddle zojirushi quality – This is a fine griddle but small. You really need the larger griddle. However this griddle will accomodate a takoyaki plate sold separately and the big griddle didn’t. Not that I have ever had japanese takoyaki an octopus savory treat. But I think it has uses as a sweet and savory treat as little balls so I compromised on the griddle size. You can find other breakfast pancake recipes for aebleskiver the danish pancakes to use with the additional takoyaki plate. Also you can put sausage or shrimp in instead of octopus to make more western savory treats. It doesn’t have to be all japanese food. I use the griddle to make breakfast omelette that sort of thing and yakisoba. It’s really too small a griddle for the amount of yakisoba I make at once but you can adjust by doing it in layers If you don’t need or want the takoyaki option then get the bigger griddle because you will love having more griddle space to heat food on. Everything Zojirushi does is top quality. The griddle is easy to clean up and light weight. The light did not go off when the griddle was hot enough to use but I can work that. Only get this griddle if you want the option of takoyaki as well.
