Excellent Design – Hario 03 vs. RSVP Cone – I having been brewing with the pour-over method for at least 10 years; it is my preferred daily brew. I have been using the RSVP manual coffee cone which is excellent but not as good as this Hario, IMO.

Perfect for 1-2 cups of coffee, and for people who like rituals. – I decided to get into making coffee at home recently. I tried a french press and a stanley thermos camp pour over with metal filters. I’m not a fan of the french press. I had much better tasting results from the pour over. The stanley was a big big for my needs, so ordered this to try with some of the paper filters. Love it. Much easier all around for the 12-16oz of coffee I make at a time. The paper filters make clean up super easy. No more banging the french press or stanley on the sides of the trash can. The paper filters keep the coffee much cleaner too, no more grit/sludge. I mention rituals, because this works better if you have a goose neck kettle to heat and pour the water from. I put the paper in the v60, then fill it with hot tap water for a minute. drain it, put in the grounds, do an initial water pour to get the grounds wet, stir the grounds with a spoon. then do pour, rest, pour, rest, etc until the water is gone. It only takes a couple minutes, but it’s part of the routine/ritual.

Easy to clean, transparent material – I have been brewing over 100 cups of coffee using this dripper. The transparent material looks always clean after rinsing with hot water. very easy to clean. As the corn-shaped paper focuses the drops of coffee into the center of a dripper, you won’t mess up or leak the coffee outside of the cup. it is also fun to see how the water flows through the coffee.

If you’re on the fence, buy this one, it’s great – I started out years ago noticing that no matter how much money you throw at coffee makers, the coffee is still universally horrid. So for about 10 years I bought a new coffee maker about every two years and just put nutmeg in it and cringed. I just bought the cheapest one because there was literally NO difference between an expensive one and a cheap one. So that was about 10 years prior.
