Test video – Mueller RapidTherm Portable Induction Cooktop Hot Plate :
Product highlights :
Practical And Portable: Induction Cooktop uses 120V electrical outlet – standard in all American homes; lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage. The outside bottom surface of the cookware must be made of a ferrous magnetic material such as cast iron, enameled steel, or magnetic stainless steel. Any pots and pans used with this cooktop must have a flat bottom and measure between 4.7” – 10.2” in diameter.
Digital Touch Control Panel And LED Display: This great induction cooktop has built-in count-down digital timer with 1 minute increments up to 240 minutes and 8 – temperature range from 140 °F to 460 °F; 8 power levels from 200 to 1800 Watts. Try it out and thank us later. Choose between 4 preset programs: hot pot, slow cook, boil and keep warm with ease.
Safe And Easy To Use: The food does not burn-on the glass cooktop so this induction burner is very easy to clean – just wipe with a damp towel, simple as that! Also, the blade fan quickly dissipates heat to ensure a longer product life so you can enjoy cooking your favorite food on it. It also includes child safety lock that keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set.
Lock And Pause Function: This function allows you to set the desired mode and then lock the control panel to avoid changing the setting by accident. To use the “Lock” function, push and hold the “Lock” button for 3 seconds until the message “LOC” appears on display, and a beep is heard. All the buttons except the ON/OFF button will be locked!

Great size and nice heating control – The rectangular design fits tight countertop space better than round. Great temperature control and heats quickly. This unit replaced an older induction cooktop we were really missing along.

Nice product – I got this to cook outside. The glass top cleans easily, but the edges are plastic so it’s easy to melt if a hot pan is rested on the edge. After cooking, it does cool off very quickly. I haven’t had any issues with it, but it does seem like it has the capacity to cook very hot, but the temperature controls are very responsive (temperature changes up and down quickly). Boils water quickly – faster than gas! Because it’s an induction cooktop, cookware must be magnetic iron or steel. Most of my pans worked. Aluminum, glass, ceramic, and copper don’t work.

A good brand and a low price – Very nice looking unit and works as it should. My pans were able to boil water but they are not very magnetic (probably do not have a high enough iron content in the base). I want it for wok cooking and will use a magnet when shopping to get the best wok for use with an induction hot plate.

Holds up, does what it’s supposed to do. Unintuitive to use – Solid product. Had held up to daily use for 6 months now. Turning it on is still confusing to this day. I never know when it’s on or cooling or half-on. It’s really unintuitive. I don’t understand why there isn’t just an on/off button and a simple left and right for temperature control. Have it default to medium temperature and let you adjust from there. Also you can only choose from one of several preprogrammed temperatures. You can choose 140 degrees, 212, 300, etc. You can’t go in between these temps, you have to use the ones allowed.

Easy to clean and powerful, but a little tricky to use – This was extremely helpful when our stove went out. It was an excellent replacement and offered a taste of induction cooking. However, the heat settings default to max temperature, which heated our pan so quickly that it cracked a cast iron dutch oven that my Wife was using. I’ll grant that there’s some user error there, but the temperature control is coarse (140, 212, 300, …, 465degF), it defaults to the max, and seems to actually be a power setting rather than a temperature setting. Once we learned to use it, it was great. But it did cost us the dutch oven.

Great for camping – Make sure to read what pots and pans you can use with this burner. As long as you have the right ones, works perfectly. I hate using our gas stove in the camper. This burner works out perfectly for outside or inside use at our campsite.

Good entry level induction cooktop – I’ve used this cooktop almost every day for several months. Its my first induction cooktop and I can say its been a great intro to this type of heat source. Induction gives you much more control over heat level and you don’t get annoying hotspots like you might on an electric stove top. Take note that your cooking times might change a little bit, induction tends to cook a little faster.

Easy to use, no need to buy portable butane gas – I thought about purchasing a portable gas burner using butane gas. I surveyed it for a long time and decided to buy this induction which is better for the environment and money wise. It is easy to clean it. I do recommend this Muller induction cooktop.
